Man-Made objects are usually designed with specific functions in mind.
Consider these objects:
What kind of jobs do they do? How does their shape relate to the work they do?
Take a few minutes and make a list of some important functions of objects around you (e.g. like holding things, carrying, pumping, copying, repairing).
Natural objects, both small and large, also have structures designed for a particular function.In plants, for example, there are tubes in tree trunks to pull up water.
In leaves stomata are designed to regulate leaf moisture
In fact, it is hard (but not impossible) for us to find a part of the natural world that is without a function, or at least a function that was important somewhere in our evolution.
