Scientists are being helped by discoveries of unusual small (nano) machines that exist in live tissues an in the inorganic world. For example, they have recently discovered a number of molecules made from six-sided plates. Because they looked like the plates in Buckminster Fuller's geodisic dome house, they are called fullerines. the one that looks like a soccerball is called a "Buckyball".

DESCRIBE OTHER FULLERINES

There are also fullerene tubes, nano tubes to be exact, that scientists hope will help in the transportation of electricity, and, soon, fullerne capsules - catalyzing recations. See how scientists work with nanotubes.

"nano?" = 1 billion(th)
